Early Start Denver Model_ES

Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) and Parent- ESDM (P-ESDM)

The ESDM is a comprehensive early intervention model developed for your children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

It addresses all the developmental domains of a child's life:

  • Receptive Communication (Understanding language)
  • Expressive Communication (Verbal and Non Verbal)
  • Social Skills (Interacting with others)
  • Play Skills
  • Joint Attention (Eye Contact)
  • Imitation (Copying peers for learning)
  • Cognitive Skills (Early Academics)
  • Fine Motor Skills (E.g. puzzles, drawing and building blocks)
  • Gross Motor Skills (E.g. balancing, climbing and ball play)
Self Care Skills (E.g. dressing, eating and toilet training)
  • Behaviour (Supporting positive behaviour changes)

ESDM therapy uses Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) teaching strategies in a play based, naturalistic environment to maximise learning for your child.

Walkie Talkie Early Intervention also provides Parent-ESDM. This is a parent coaching course that up-skills parents to deliver ESDM within your child's daily routine.
